Hello, friends.

I’m Rosie, a researcher, designer, & writer. By day, I am a researcher and designer. I spend time getting to deeply understand and empathize with others and designing for them. I sit with data points for hours to find the stories in them, then create detailed recommendations and design strategies. By night, I am a reader, an artist, and a (pretty mid) home cook. As a remote worker with a network of friends and family around the globe, I am also an avid traveler.

In everything that I do, I love collecting, curating, and making lists.

Travel recommendation lists

Restaurant lists

Gift idea lists

To-do lists

Pro & con lists

Recipe lists

“Best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever eaten” lists

For years, I’ve often found myself being asked for travel recommendations, gift ideas, and design inspiration by those around me. I’ve written up detailed lists in my Apple Notes app, Google Sheets, or on a Notion page to share with those around me. After much prodding from friends and family, I finally succumbed to the idea of posting my recommendations and lists somewhere more public.

A brief history

I originally started writing about my travels in 2021, when I moved away from my hometown (Atlanta, GA). I spent 2021 living in and traveling between California, Portugal, and Spain and kept an online travel diary to chronicle my favorite places, moments, and things I was experiencing. As I was getting settled into my new home base (San Francisco, CA) in 2022, I started up this substack, Rosie’s Lists.

Subscribe to “Rosie’s Lists” for travel guides, curated selections of my favorite things, occasional recipes, and unfiltered thoughts.

Work in progress

This publication is very much a work in progress. I am still trying to figure out the best way to stay connected with my family & friends back home (& elsewhere) while also sharing more broadly with new audiences. I do some level of this via my Instagram (personal) and TikTok (restaurant reviews & travel guides), but sometimes a photo dump or short video isn’t enough to articulate all the experiences I want to share. We’ll see how it goes 👀

If you’d like to see a specific kind of list or guide, feel free to comment or send me a message💌

Cheers,

Rosie
